and has been providing quality piano lessons to students of various ages and levels of
playing since 2006.
Whether teaching children or adults, Marlene believes in a balanced approach to teaching
music and believes that students should have a solid foundation of learning through the
RCM (Royal Conservatory of Music Certificate program) while keeping expectations in
line with student goals and objectives.
Marlene is motivated by her love of teaching and her love of music. She enjoys
empowering students with the tools and opportunities to help them realize their musical
goals and become the best musicians they can be.
Marlene has also prepared many students for RCM practical and theory examinations,
and many have received awards and scholarships for highest marks. Her students have
also placed at both local and provincial music festivals including the Kiwanis Music
Festival of Toronto, Peel Music Festival, Milton Music Festival and ORMTA BBC music
festivals.
Marlene studied piano throughout junior high, secondary school and went to graduate
from York University where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree. Marlene is
a Royal Conservatory of Music Certified Teacher and is an affiliate member of the Ontario
Registered Music Teachers’ Association (ORMTA)
